A Handmade Story: Manos at 50 - April 2018

What a thrill to visit Manos del Uruguay during their 50th anniversary.  We first explored  their headquarters and sampled some retail stores in Montevideo - then headed out to the countryside where we saw yarn being spun and dyed by members of the cooperative. We even dyed some yarn ourselves!  Manos is a hand-dye pioneer and was an artisan yarn well before the term became popular. Manos remains a cooperative and is a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organization, the only yarn company in South America to have this certification. HAPPY 50TH, MANOS DEL URUGUAY!!
